ABOUT THIS EXHIBIT
Wassily Kandinsky (1866–1944) was a painter and theorist closely
associated with the emergence of abstraction in modern European
art. He explored relationships among color, shape, rhythm and
spiritual experience. This exhibit gathers Smithsonian material
connected to his art, writing, exhibitions and influence.
